چکیده

We discuss two examples of oscillations apparently hidden in some experimental results for high-energy multiparticle production processes: (i) the log-periodic oscillatory pattern decorating the power-like Tsallis distributions of transverse momenta; (ii) the oscillations of the modified combinants obtained from the measured multiplicity distributions. Our calculations are confronted with pp data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We show that in both cases, these phenomena can provide new insight into the dynamics of these processes.

The gluon dominance model offers a description of multiparticle production in e + e −-annihilation and proton-proton collisions. The multiplicity distributions in e + e − annihilation are well described. The energy dependence of model parameters gives the dynamic parton stage and hadronisation picture. It is shown that this model has confirmed oscillations in sign of the ratio of factorial cumu...

Multiparticle Production and Quantum Chromodynamics

The theory of strong interactions, quantum chromodynamics (QCD), is quite successful in the prediction and description of main features of multiparticle production processes at high energies. The general perturbative QCD approach to these processes (mainly to e + e −-annihilation) is briefly formulated and its problems are discussed. It is shown that the analytical calculations at the parton le...

Exponentiation of multiparticle amplitudes in scalar theories. II. Universality of the exponent.

It has been shown recently that the amplitude of the creation of n real scalar particles by one virtual boson near n–particle threshold exhibits exponential behavior at n ∼ 1/λ. We extend this result to the processes of multiparticle production at threshold by two virtual bosons. We find that both the tree–level amplitude and leading–n loop corrections have the same exponential behavior, with t...

Relations between classical phase-space distributions and Wigner functions for multiparticle production processes. Abstract The effects of interpreting classical phase space distributions as Wigner functions, which is common in models of multiparticle production , are discussed. The temperature for the classical description is always higher than that for its Wigner function interpretation. A ro...

Review of Theory Talks at Xxix International Symposium on Multiparticle Dynamics

The main trend in theoretical applications of QCD to processes of multiparticle production during recent years, which was well presented at this Symposium, can be summarised as: ”From small to large distances or an interplay of perturbative and nonperturbative aspects of QCD”. The basis of QCD is rather well established now by a comparison of its predictions with experiments sensitive to small ...
